The apparel industry is in a period of upheaval - and not just since the global Corona pandemic. It is currently experiencing its second revolution: While increasing industrialization in the 1930s meant the end of customized tailoring, which had dominated until then, the transition to digitalization is now determining the future of the industry.
Digitalization is accompanied by the shifting of complete responsibilities in the process chain; there is a virtual reversal of the process. "All process partners want to reduce their costs. Pushing tasks back from the dealer to the manufacturer creates gaps in competence. The changes are radical, everything is being done differently than before, task packages are being pushed back and forth with strong digital support," says Hans Peter Hiemer of Assyst. 3D as the driver technology of digitization accelerates processes from the very beginning - and Assyst wants to make this clear with its new digital event format "The New Work & Flow" and show ways to successfully shape one's own digitization.
Under the motto "Make 3D work - End to End", there will be specialist presentations with good examples from company practice, but also impulses from experts. The digital event will start on March 23, 2021, and will be continued on March 24, April 15 and 21, 2021.
The topics of the expert presentations range from the use of 3D in the areas of design, product development and sales to cost savings, the involvement of digital people and overarching topics relating to change management in the company.
This year, everything is a little different at Assyst, too. This is because Texprocess has been postponed until next year, and the Fashion Forum will also not take place this year. "Proximity to our customers is always very important to us and very much we would have liked to get everyone together in one place - but now we are creating the opportunity for everyone to follow our technical presentations from wherever they want. And we will also be offering our demos, which are in great demand at Texprocess, virtually," says Marketing Director Alexandra Seidl. The online demos can be booked separately and product-related in addition to participation in the event via a digital calendar.
